A Response from McFarlane:

I couldn’t agree more that the best way to resolve this is to sit down and negotiate, or failing that, advancing as quickly as possible to interest arbitration. Shelly and I stand ready to meet with you at any time- and would love to do just that. We were hoping that by limiting the issues at stake- as noted in our recent round of correspondence- the ATU and TriMet could agree to move toward a more timely arbitration. I think getting this resolved quickly is in the best interests of TriMet’s employees and ATU’s members.

Regarding the statute- the letters attached show that Fred’s view was the same as mine. These letters speak directly to the statute- not the budge- and go back to last October.
